INDIANAPOLIS, IN (March 22, 2011)- In partnership with Dollar General, Sarah Fisher Racing (SFR) is pleased to announce the addition of Infineon Raceway to its 2011 schedule, with IZOD IndyCar® Series driver Ed Carpenter behind the wheel of the No. 67 Dollar General Honda powered Dallara.

“When we looked at our goals for 2011, our big picture was doing well within the Oval Championship,” said Fisher. “Supporting that goal, we look to continue to maintain that focus with the Indy 500 as our first event of the season. We are committed to supporting Ed on both the Oval and Road Courses this year and have decided that this race will better support that commitment as well as maintain our focus on the Oval Championship. ”

Carpenter, who will be competing in a total of nine events this season for SFR, will return to the cockpit of the No. 67 Dollar General machine for a test in early May at Kentucky Speedway, where he has landed two consecutive second place finishes, coming in 2009 and 2010. Carpenter is very much looking forward to the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series season with SFR and Dollar General, and is extremely excited about the addition to the team’s schedule.

“I am really excited to be heading back to Infineon in 2011,” said Carpenter. “I am slightly disappointed that we will not be in St. Pete to be a part of the start of the season, but I am more excited about the progress that we are making as a team. I feel like my history at Sonoma shows better performance compared to St Pete as well. I just can’t wait to get back in the car at Kentucky and to get to the month of May.”

With support from primary sponsor, Dollar General, SFR opted to substitute Infineon for the originally scheduled St. Petersburg race. The decision was made mutually with the big picture in mind, focusing on preparation for the Oval Championship. Making the substitution will also provide an opportunity to gain better momentum through the three road courses committed; Sonoma, Mid-Ohio and Baltimore.

The IZOD IndyCar Series will kick off its 17-race 2011 season on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida. It will be aired live on ABC at 12:30pm EST on Sunday, March 27, 2011. Additional coverage will be available on IMS Radio, XM Satellite Radio Channel 145 “IndyCar Racing,” along with a broadcast coverage summary available at www.indycar.com.
