Team Manager Mitch Davis on BMP: “Our team learned a lot in St. Pete; we were competitive but made some mistakes. We’re heading to Barber Motorsports Park with good information from the Open Test, so it will be an exciting weekend for Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing and Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing.”
Fifth car for Ganassi at Barber: The No. 01 TELMEX Dinan-Prepared BMW Riley returns to Barber Motorsports Park for the Porsche 250 as the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series shares the track with the IZOD IndyCar Series this weekend. Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas sit at the top of the GRAND-AM Rolex Series championship standings after winning the Grand Prix of Miami and the Rolex 24 At Daytona. In seven visits to Barber Motorsports Park, Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates has never finished outside the top-10 with six top-fives and four podiums. Pruett and Rojas won the event in 2008 and 2010, also claiming the runner-up position in 2009.
Graham Rahal and the No. 38 Service Central Team
Follow Graham on Twitter: Follow @GrahamRahal for updates as the driver of the No. 38 Service Central Honda completes his first season with Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing in the IZOD IndyCar Series.
Meet Rahal at NTB: Rahal will be signing autographs at NTB in Hoover, Alabama from 3-4 PM on Saturday, April 9th. NTB is located at 3420 Galleria Circle, Hoover, AL 35244.
Tire Strategy: The No. 38 Service Central car will support NTB, Service Central’s Alabama retail center this weekend. NTB is an industry-leading tire retailer that specializes in tire and battery replacement as well as offering many enhanced mechanical services. For more information, please visit www.ntb.com.
Rahal on St. Petersburg: “The day started rough for the Service Central team. There was a lot of adrenaline on the track at the start of the race. After the first restart, there was contact from another car and I hit the fence; we had to replace the wing and make adjustments to the right rear suspension. We knew we had to stay out and finish for points. It was a frustrating finish for the No. 38 Service Central Honda.”
BMP History: Rahal completed his first IICS Open Test with Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing at Barber Motorsports Park on March 14 and 15 with a best time of 1:12.98. In 2010, Rahal recorded his first IICS career start at BMP with a 17th place finish.
Rahal on Barber Open Test: “Overall, it was really good couple of days for the Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing team. We made a lot of changes and improvements to the car and got the most out of both test days.”
Winning Combination: Tim Keene will call the shots for the No. 38 Service Central team at Barber Motorsports Park. Keene is the Team Manager and Race Strategist for the four-time GRAND-AM Rolex Series No.01 TELMEX Dinan-prepared BMW/Riley with TELMEX Chip Ganassi Racing. Keene first worked with Rahal when the No. 01 TELMEX team went to Victory Lane for the Rolex 24 At Daytona in January.
Rahal, the Blogger: Keep up with Rahal as he provides his perspective on the Service Central team, his competitors and post-race recaps in season-long blogs with SPEEDTV.com and AutoWeek.com.
