Birmingham, Ala. (April 10, 2011) – Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing (SSCGR) finished 18th in the IZOD IndyCar Series Honda Grand Prix of Alabama on Sunday, April 10th.

Rahal started in the 10th position and would run consistently in the top-10 until contact with another car sent the No. 38 Service Central Honda to pit lane for repairs. The Service Central team returned to the track and focused on gaining as much track position as possible before ending the day two laps down in 18th position.

After the second race of the 2011 season, Rahal sits 20th in the IZOD IndyCar Series point standings.

Up next for Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing is Round 3 of the IZOD IndyCar Series at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach on Sunday, April 17th (3:30 p.m. ET, VERSUS).

Graham Rahal: “Overall, it was a disappointing day for Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing. The No. 38 Service Central car was really good and we made it through the first couple of restarts without issues. I just got ahead of myself and drove down the inside of Hildebrand and made contact – it was my fault. Fortunately, it wasn’t that hard of a hit but hard enough that I had to make a pit stop for repairs and went a few laps down. It was disappointing because our car was pretty darn good today.”
