NOTES/NEWS

Follow CGR on Twitter: Follow @CGRTeams for official updates from Chip Ganassi Racing’s INDYCAR and GRAND-AM teams.

Team Manager Mitch Davis on Brazil: “So far this year we’ve met our expectations as far as building the team, drivers, and synergy; setup-wise everything is looking really good and the cars are faster every race. We work on the cars week-to-week to try and get more competitive in the pits and on the race track. Neither driver has been to Brazil, but we have a lot of data from the Target Chip Ganassi Racing team and we work really close with them on engineering, so I think our starting set-up will be very good out of the box. I’m looking forward to both Charlie and Graham going down there and being really competitive, the Novo Nordisk team and Service Central team were really competitive in Long Beach even though we had some misfortune there but we look forward to Brazil.”

Graham Rahal and the No. 38 Service Central Team

Follow Graham on Twitter: Follow @GrahamRahal for updates as the driver of the No. 38 Service Central Honda completes his first season with Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing in the IZOD IndyCar Series.

Tire Strategy: The No. 38 Service Central car will support NTB – National Tire and Battery this weekend. NTB is an industry-leading tire retailer that specializes in tire and battery replacement as well as offering many enhanced mechanical services. For more information, please visit www.ntb.com.

Long Beach Recap: Rahal started from the 16th position and ran consistently in the top-15 throughout the first 25 laps of the race. After the Service Central team completed their first pit stop, Rahal made contact with another car leaving pit lane but did not to have any major damage. The Service Central team continued to battle on the track but would find trouble again when Rahal clipped his front wing while attempting to dodge an accident on a restart. The Service Central car would ultimately cross the finish line in the 13th position.

Rahal on Long Beach: “Overall, it was a pretty good day for Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing. We have a lot to be positive about. We had a really good run going in the No. 38 Service Central Honda; we made up a lot of positions while saving fuel. It’s a shame what happened in the pits and on the restart, but overall it was a really good day. Even though the result wasn’t a top-10 we have a lot to be positive about.”

New Territory: Rahal will mark his first start on the streets of Sao Paulo, Brazil this weekend. This will be his 62nd IZOD IndyCar Series career start and 37th on a road/street course.

Winning Combination: Tim Keene will call the shots for the No. 38 Service Central team in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Keene is the Team Manager and Race Strategist for the four-time GRAND-AM Rolex Series No.01 TELMEX Dinan-prepared BMW/Riley with TELMEX Chip Ganassi Racing. Keene first worked with Rahal when the No. 01 TELMEX team went to Victory Lane for the Rolex 24 At Daytona in January.

Rahal, the Blogger: Keep up with Rahal as he provides his perspective on the Service Central team, his competitors and post-race recaps in season-long blogs with SPEEDTV.com and AutoWeek.com.
