What they have to say about the 100th Anniversary of the Indianapolis 500…
Justin Wilson, No. 22 Z-Line Designs: “Today’s weather forecast was right. We didn’t get any track time today, which stinks, but hopefully we will get some dry running in tomorrow and will get stuck in. We’ve only had a few laps so far, but it’s the same for everyone, so we’ll just sit around and wait and hopefully it will get better.”
Paul Tracy, No. 23 WIX Filters: “Today doesn’t really hurt us. We made some runs yesterday when the weather was good and warm. Some people questioned why we were doing that because we were short on tires. We looked at the weather and said ‘well maybe we aren’t going to run the next day’. I think it has put us in a good position because we know what we can do to the WIX Filters car and we know what changes we need to make and we are up to speed. Having this one day of rain puts us in a better position tire-wise for later in the week.”
Ana Beatriz, No. 24 Ipiranga: “It’s disappointing. I wish that we could have had more track time to improve the car and setup. Hopefully we can have sunny days and we will be able to work on the car this week. We always have rain days in Indy, so we were expecting that, but hopefully it will be dry tomorrow and I can run.”
Davey Hamilton, No. 11 HP: “It’s the same for everybody, obviously, that we didn’t get any track time today, but unfortunately I didn’t get any yesterday either. The good thing is that I’m ready to go. Paul and Justin tested well yesterday so I feel confident that our cars will be good. When it stops, we will be the first ones out there.”
About Dreyer & Reinbold Racing:
Dreyer & Reinbold Racing is entering its 12th season of full-time competition in 2011, making it one of the longest-tenured teams in IZOD IndyCar Series competition. Current Co-Owners, Dennis Reinbold and Robbie Buhl, first teamed in full-time competition at the Walt Disney World Speedway in January of 2000. With Buhl behind the wheel, the two owners tasted victory in their debut race. The 2009 IZOD IndyCar Series season-opener, on the streets of St. Petersburg, marked Dreyer & Reinbold Racing’s 200th series start. DRR now has over 270 starts to tuck under its belt and has qualified a total of 27 cars for the Indianapolis 500. In its history, the team has boasted a championship list of alumni drivers.
