Indy Lights Drivers Join Belardi for Test

Israel’s Alon Day, Britain’s Stefan Wilson and Venezuela’s Jorge Goncalvez joined Belardi Auto Racing for a two-day test at Palm Beach International Raceway this past Saturday and Sunday. Goncalvez and Day were on track Saturday while Wilson joined the team solo on Sunday.
“I had a great time this weekend at Palm Beach International Raceway. It was great to be a part of the test with Belardi Auto Racing, and everyone was awesome to work with,” Stefan Wilson said after the test. “I want to thank Brian, John and everyone involved for allowing me the opportunity to test with them.”

Alon Day was equally pleased with test. “I didn’t know what to expect when I came here to the states, because I’m used to driving F3 which are quite slow with little downforce, and I think these [Lights cars] are two times as powerful. I didn’t know how the test would go. It felt a little strange at the start but I was happy to get used to the car really quickly just after a few laps. The test went quite well.
“This was my first time in America and my very first time in a Lights car. We just have to say thank you to Brian and John for accommodating us so last minute, and we’re very grateful. We had a great day, really enjoyed ourselves and cannot say enough good things about everyone we worked with at Belardi.”
Goncalvez, one of Belardi Auto Racing’s drivers from the 2011 season, enjoyed spending his Saturday being reunited with the team. “The test went just as planned, and it was a really great day. My car was great, and had some good runs [on track]. It’s always nice to work with everyone on the team.”
