“I applaud the changes made by NASCAR in an effort to further enhance the competition for the upcoming season as I am confident it will lead to increased excitement during each race and a thrilling season-long points battle which is great for the fans and the health of our sport.  I am especially excited about the continued focus on winning and the importance of reaching Gatorade Victory Lane for the new wild card spots in The Chase.  Our race is only a few weeks before the championship field is determined which means all 43 drivers that challenge The Glen’s twists and turns will fight desperately for a win.  Drivers already locked into The Chase will push their cars beyond the limit in the hopes of claiming valuable bonus points for the final seeding and those out of contention for a spot in the Top 10 will really let it all hang out because claiming victory will be their only shot at racing for the championship.  The Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at The Glen was already ranked as the fifth highest “Must See” race in 2011 by Scenedaily.com and these changes will only make the racing that much more thrilling when NASCAR’s best return to WGI on Sunday, August 14.”
