Charlotte, NC (February 25, 2011) – The second race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup 2011 schedule takes the teams to the Valley of the Sun, Phoenix, AZ.  Robby Gordon and the No. 7 SPEED Energy team sit comfortably in the 16^th position of the 2011 owner points standings following the Daytona 500.

Making his first Cup start at Phoenix in 1996, Robby Gordon recorded a 14^th place finish in the 2010 spring event at Phoenix International Raceway and looks to improve on that this weekend at the 1-mile oval.   PIR is one of Gordon’s favorite tracks on the NASCAR schedule as it where he scored his first Indy Car victory.

The No. 7 SPEED Energy Dodge Charger R/T will be featuring a new partner, Bashas’ Supermarkets, this weekend.

“We had some strong runs in Phoenix last season. We were a top 10 car all day at last year’s spring Cup race. I think coming back with Penske power under our Dodge Charger is going to be a lot of fun. With our great run last weekend at the (Daytona)500, we have a lot of momentum with this SPEED Energy team.
