Carl Edwards, with a qualifying lap speed of 137.279 mph, captured the NSCS SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500 Coors Light Pole Award at Phoenix International Raceway (breaking his own record set last year – 136.389 mph – Nov. 14, 2010).

This was Edwards’ first series pole of the 2011 season, his eighth series career pole and his third series pole at Phoenix International Raceway.

Sharing the front row with Edwards, and with a qualifying lap speed of 137.112 mph, will be Kurt Busch, followed by Kasey Kahne (137.096) starting in the third position, Kyle Busch (136.981) starting fourth and Regan Smith (136.971) will be starting in the fifth position.

Rounding out the top-ten starting positions will be Joey Logano (136.945) starting sixth, Martin Truex Jr. (136.809) seventh, Jamie McMurray (136.773) eighth, Brad Keselowski (136.768) ninth and Greg Biffle (136.674) starting in the tenth position.

Failing to make the starting lineup was the #92 driven by Brian Keselowski.

The start of the SUBWAY Fresh Fit 500 is scheduled to get underway a little after 3:00 PM (EST) on Sunday.
