Press Release
Daytona International Speedway
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: 17 of 36
Track: Daytona International Speedway
Track Length: 2.5 miles
Date: July 2, 2011
Dave Blaney returns to Daytona International Speedway in the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet this weekend for the Coke Zero 400. Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) will hit the track and look to repeat the team’s superspeedway success the team has shown this NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) season.
TBR AT DAYTONA – TBR made five starts at Daytona International Speedway and 10 superspeedway starts. The team’s best start of 17th came in its Daytona debut in 2009. Steve Park scored the team’s best finish of 13th in last year’s Coke Zero 400.
BLANEY AT DAYTONA – Blaney made 21 career starts at the Daytona Beach superspeedway. This weekend’s start will mark his 41st career-superspeedway start. The Hartford, Ohio native made his best start of fourth in the summer event in 2000. He scored his best finish of 14th in the 2005 Daytona 500.
KIDS EAT FREE – TBR will compete to feed America’s families again this weekend, as Golden Corral returns to the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet. If the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet finishes in the top-10 in the Coke Zero 400, kids eat free (with an adult purchase) on Monday, July 4th. Golden Corral will also donate $5,000 to the DAV.
LUKE & ASSOCIATES DEBUT – Luke & Associates will make the company’s debut on both the No. 36 and No. 35 Chevrolets this weekend. Luke will run associate logos on the No. 36 Chevrolet for the duration of the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) season. Luke & Associates, Inc. is one of the largest providers of healthcare for the U.S. military and is rapidly expanding into national and local healthcare systems. Headquartered on the Space Coast of Florida, Luke formed in 2004 and has grown exponentially in the last six years. The company now has more than 1,300 medical and support personnel worldwide.
CHASSIS NO. 27 – Blaney will pilot the No. 27 chassis this weekend. He most recently piloted the chassis at Talladega Superspeedway in April where he led 21 laps before a late-race spin spoiled a solid run. TBR also ran the No. 27 chassis in the Daytona 500 this season.
LAST RACE RECAP: TOYOTA/SAVE MART 350 – Blaney drove the No. 36 Big Red Chevrolet from the 36th starting spot to a race-high fifth. He was in the 11th position when he was spun with 16 laps to go. The spin relegated the team to a 31st-place finish.
IN THE POINTS – The No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet held onto the 32nd position in NSCS Owner Points and has a lead of 43 points over 36th place. The team sits 28 points behind 31st. Blaney also held onto the 31st spot in NSCS Driver Points. He is now 43 points behind David Gilliland in 30th and 15 points ahead of Casey Mears in 32nd.
LIGHTHOUSE MISSION – The Lighthouse Mission logo debuted on the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet at Daytona International Speedway and will be present for the entire 2011 season. TBR has teamed up to help the Long Island based-charity build awareness and raise funds for Lighthouse Mission. For more information on Lighthouse Mission, visit www.lighthousemission.net.

Dave Blaney Quotes:
ON RACING AT DAYTONA – “I’m really looking forward to Daytona. We have run well on both Speedways this season, and we have the same car going back. I’m more comfortable with the two-car draft now. I originally thought there would be more wrecks and trouble because of the two-car draft, but there really hasn’t been. I’m proud to be racing for America’s families and am thrilled to be back at a superspeedway as it is one of our best chances for a top-10 so kids can eat free on Monday.”
Tommy Baldwin Quotes:
ON THIS WEEKEND – “It’s a big weekend for us. We have both cars with Golden Corral and Luke & Associates on board. A lot of people are coming to the race representing those companies, so it is definitely the biggest weekend for TBR so far.”
ON RACING AT DAYTONA – “I always look forward to going to Daytona, especially with winning there before and the history of the racetrack. We always seem to race well there, so I’m looking forward to a good weekend.”

About Tommy Baldwin Racing:
Tommy Baldwin Racing was formed in 2009 by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Crew Chief Tommy Baldwin. Baldwin utilized a slumping economy to open a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team with a stringent budget. The team competed in two full seasons with multiple drivers behind the wheel of the No. 36 Chevrolet and improved in the standings each year.
Based in Mooresville, N.C., TBR will compete in the full NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule in 2011 with NASCAR veteran Dave Blaney piloting the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet. Looking to improve on-track performance, TBR found success early in the 2011 season with partners Golden Corral, Big Red and Accell Construction. TBR’s driver development program, Heinke-Baldwin Racing, will also compete in various NASCAR series in 2011.
