(July 28, 2011) Mooresville, N.C. – TRG Motorsports and driver Andy Lally are headed to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Brickyard 400 on Sunday, July 31st. The race will mark Lally’s debut at the historic Brickyard.

Although the team had off this past weekend from Sprint Cup Series competition, Lally and the team spent much of his their time at Old Dominion Speedway with the Robert Bruce Racing #31 late-model team, competing in the Youth For Tomorrow 150. Lally started the race from the pole, but was involved in an early incident not of his own doing and was unable to complete the event.

Hitting the bricks has always been a dream for Lally who said,

“This place has so much history. I’ve been able to win at historic tracks such as Daytona and Laguna Seca. But to be able to race at Indy, that is something I’ve always dreamed of. I had a great off week, but now I’m ready to get back to the track. I’ve learned a lot so far and I’m ready for the second half of my rookie year.”

The Brickyard 400 will cover 400 miles; 160 laps around the 2.5-mile oval. Being one of the most prominent events in NASCAR, the Indianapolis track has drawn some of the largest crowds at a Sprint Cup Series stock car race.

Team owner Kevin Buckler is hoping for a strong run to propel his team back into the top-35 in owner’s points. “We’ve been on the verge of breaking through for a few weeks now and I think this could be the weekend to do it. Andy has been more aggressive, and I think that’s showing on the track and in our results. NASCAR is so competitive and I’m happy to see the progress he has made.”

This weekend will mark the tenth career start at Indianapolis for crew chief Doug Richert. He too, is optimistic about the upcoming weekend. “The #71 team had a top-20 qualifying effort here last year and we’ll look to build on that heading into Saturday. It’s going to be pretty hot this weekend, so our job will be to adjust on our setup as the track changes and make Andy as comfortable as we can in the car.”

This weekend will mark the beginning of ESPN’s coverage of the Sprint Cup Series this season. ESPN will broadcast the race via television, radio, online and on mobile devices. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Brickyard 400 can be viewed Sunday live on EPSN starting at 1 p.m. ET. Qualifying will be covered by ESPN2 starting at 2:10 p.m. on Saturday, July 30.
