Ranger brings plenty of experience to the table this weekend with several road course starts already under his belt. Ranger is the 2007 and 2009 Canadian Tire Series Champion. Ranger also has a few NASCAR Nationwide Series starts, where he finished a career-best third at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal in 2009. Ranger’s first Nationwide Series start also came at Watkins Glen International in 2002. Ranger also competed in the Champ Car Series during the 2005 and 2006 seasons.
“I am truly overwhelmed that Mr. Stoddard has given me this great opportunity,” Ranger said. “It’s been five years now that I left single-seater racing to undertake a challenging stock car career. To drive in the Sprint Cup series is a dream come true and a huge step I have been seeking for.”
