NASCAR announced its 2012 Sprint Cup Series schedule today. Michigan International Speedway will once again host NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races on Father’s Day, June 17 (Live on TNT) and August 19 (Live on ESPN). Below is a statement from MIS President Roger Curtis on the speedway hosting two Sprint Cup Series races in 2012.

STATEMENT FROM MICHIGAN INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY PRESIDENT ROGER CURTIS

“We’re very excited that Michigan International Speedway will once again host two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races in 2012 with our traditional race weekends on Father’s Day, June 17 and August 19. We are very proud of our loyal and passionate fans that continue to support MIS and NASCAR and of the great economic impact these events has on the Irish Hills of Michigan every summer. MIS will continue to create lasting memories for those fans that have made the choice to witness some of the greatest racing in the country right here at MIS.”
