Kasey Kahne, with a lap speed of 191.455 mph, was the fastest during the first NSCS Bank of America 500 practice session at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Paul Menard was second fastest with a lap speed of 191.333 mph, and was followed by Greg Biffle (190.981) who was third fastest, Mark Martin (190.927) fourth fastest and Regan Smith (190.840) was the fifth fastest.

Rounding out the top-ten fastest during practice were Marcos Ambrose (190.624) who was sixth fastest, Denny Hamlin (190.577) seventh, AJ Allmendinger (190.517) eighth, Trevor Bayne (190.476) ninth and Jimmie Johnson (190.449) posting the tenth fastest lap speed.

Weather permitting, the teams will return this evening for their 7:10 PM (ET) scheduled qualifying session, and then return on Friday for two more practice sessions (4:30 PM – 5:10 PM ET and “Happy Hour:” 5:50 PM – 6:50 PM ET)before Saturday night’s Bank of America 500 (which is set to start approximately around 7:50 PM (ET).
