NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Team Sinica Motorsports Inc. Calls Monroe, N.C., ‘Home’
Press ReleaseTeam Manager and Co-Owner, Jason Miles, believes that the team will bring many race fans and visitors to Monroe. He also realizes that the community’s support is more important than ever.
“We want the community to know that our success depends largely on the support of this town,” said Miles. “As the only current-generation NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team in Union County, founding this team is not only a milestone for us, but it is a milestone for the city of Monroe.”
With most NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams located in Mooresville, N.C., and Concord, N.C., it was an obvious choice for Co-Owners, George Sinica and Miles, on why they should stay in Monroe.
“George and I are both Union County residents and proud to house our team in Monroe,” said Miles.
Sinica is a native-Argentinian who moved to the United States in 1964. He is a long-time entrepreneur and motorsports enthusiast who now resides in Weddington, N.C. His South American heritage puts Sinica Motorsports Inc. in the history books as the first Argentinian-owned NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team.
Miles is a lifetime resident of Union County and has worked in the professional motorsports industry and within the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series since the mid-1990s.
Sinica Motorsports Inc. will field the No. 93 Chevrolet Impala in 10-15 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races and possibly a full season in 2012. ARCA Racing Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver, Grant Enfinger, will be behind the wheel of the No. 93 machine and he is proud to be part of a team so dedicated to the community.
“I’m glad that Sinica Motorsports Inc. is keeping their roots in Union County,” said Enfinger. “I don’t think any of the teams in Mooresville can call Mooresville home. I’m glad to say we can call Monroe home.”
In an effort to encourage the support of local area businesses and community members, Sinica Motorsports Inc. is offering advertisement placement on their website as well as show car appearances to local businesses at a discounted rate.
“We want to support the community that has supported us for many years,” said Miles. “Partnering with local businesses is just one way we hope to drive tourism dollars to Monroe, N.C.”
