Mike Skinner to drive at Texas Motor Speedway for Max Q Motorsports
Press ReleaseMooresville, NC. (November 3, 2011)—Longtime NASCAR Veteran Mike Skinner has signed with Max Q Motorsports to finish up the 2011 season with the team. He will attempt to qualify for the AAA Texas 500 this weekend.
“I’ve known Larry for years, he’s an old driver like myself, I raced against him many times. He knows what he’s doing with this team. He’s a fighter,” added Skinner about Max Q Motorsports team owner Larry Gunselman.
Skinner has fared well at Texas in the past. He is the owner of six career poles on the Sprint Cup circuit to go along with 39 top ten finishes, a best career start in the series of 9th and has finished 12th there twice in 12 career starts.
“There are great fans in Texas, I’ve always run well there, its definitely been one of my best tracks,” commented Skinner about racing in Texas.
