Greg Biffle, with a lap speed of 193.327 mph, was the quickest during the first NSCS AAA Texas 500 practice session at Texas Motor Speedway.

Biffle’s fellow Roush Fenway Racing teammate, Carl Edwards, was second fastest with a lap speed of 193.043 mph, and was followed by Tony Stewart (192.713 mph) who was third fastest, Marcos Ambrose (192.472) fourth fastest and Regan Smith (192.383) was the fifth fastest.

Rounding out the top-ten fastest during practice were Juan Pablo Montoya (192.253) who was sixth fastest, Kyle Busch (192.226) seventh, Trevor Bayne (192.041) eighth, Matt Kenseth (192.000) ninth and Kurt Busch (191.904) posting the tenth fastest lap speed.

The teams will return to the track a little later this afternoon for their 4:40 PM (ET) scheduled qualifying session, and then they will return to the track on Saturday for two more practice sessions (9:45 AM – 10:30 AM; “Happy Hour” 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM – ET).

The AAA Texas 500 is set to get underway approximately at 3:20 PM (ET) Sunday afternoon with ESPN beginning their (pre-race) television coverage at 2:00 PM (ET)
