2011 NSCS AAA Texas 500 Second Practice Session Speeds
Timing & Scoring
Scored the second fastest with the identical lap speed of 188.897 mph, was Edwards fellow Roush Fenway Racing teammate and pole sitter, Greg Biffle, and they were followed by Jeff Gordon (188.745) who was third fastest, Kasey Kahne (188.495) fourth and David Ragan (188.193) was fifth fastest.
Rounding out the top-ten fastest in practice were Brad Keselowski (188.153) who was sixth fastest, Marcos Ambrose (188.101) seventh, Tony Stewart (188.075) eighth, Denny Hamlin (187.937) ninth and Ryan Newman (187.735) posting the tenth fastest lap speed.
For those that haven’t heard yet, NASCAR President Mike Helton stated during a press conference Saturday morning at Texas Motor Speedway, that Kyle Busch has been parked for the remainder of the activities (NASCAR Nationwide Series race and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events) this weekend. Helton also stated that Busch could possibly face further penalties including monetary fines, possible driver reprimands, and will review that and meet with sanctioning body officials on Monday.

Michael McDowell has been selected to fill in as driver of the No. 18 M&M’s Toyota Camry for the weekend, and posted a lap speed of 183.449 mph, and was 33rd on the speed charts.
“Happy Hour” (final) practice is scheduled to run from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (ET) today, and the AAA Texas 500 is set to get underway on Sunday afternoon, with ESPN beginning their (pre-race) television coverage at 2:00 PM (ET).
