An Open Letter From Kyle Busch
Press ReleaseThe following is a letter written by Kyle Busch to his fans, sponsors, teammates, competitors and fellow members of the racing community.
“To all,
I’ve had a lot of time today to sit and reflect, and try to put my thoughts into words as best I can.”
“I want to sincerely apologize for my actions during Friday night’s Truck Series race at Texas.”
“I apologize to my fans, all my sponsors, everyone at Joe Gibbs Racing and Kyle Busch Motorsports.”
“After talking with my team, it’s great to have their support and encouragement to assure me that there are better days ahead. Even though this took place while driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports, I am sorry for how difficult this has been for everyone associated with Joe Gibbs Racing’s Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series teams.”
“I’d also like to apologize to Ron Hornaday Jr., and everyone associated with the No. 33 team in the Truck Series.”
“I understand why I was taken out of the car for the rest of the weekend. NASCAR officials had to act, and I accept their punishment and take full responsibility for my actions.”
“As a racecar driver, the hardest thing to do is to sit on the sidelines listening to cars on the track when you know you should be out there competing. For this, I have no one to blame but myself.”
“Through a lot of support from the people around me, I feel like I’ve made a lot of strides this year, but this was certainly a step backward. Moving forward, I will do everything I possibly can to represent everyone involved in a positive manner. However, I know my long-term actions will have more of a bearing than anything I say right now.”
Sincerely,
Kyle Busch

I believe it when I see it. Seems to me you are just trying to dig yourself out of the hole you have dug for yourself, yet again. Cry baby!!!
Kyle I am still a fan but I hope by sitting out this weekend it shows you have to channel that anger in different ways. My 4 year old grandson is a fan of yours and I am glad he didnt see that last night. But we all make mistakes in life and have to learn from them. It takes a bigger person to say they are sorry for their mistakes. I wish you the best and hopefully you have learnt a lesson even if it was a hard one.
sounds like maybe his wife or PR person wrote this……how about ” I am very sorry for taking Ron out of the championship”.
Actually Kyle Busch should sit for the rest of this season & no place in the chase! He has run other drivers down other than Ron Hornaday, Jr (and of course he is assoc with Kevin Harvick) I have seen enough of Kyle Busch for 1 year! And also, no presence at the tracks either………
How about ANGER MANAGEMENT, THERE GOES KYLE! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
I am a fan and fellow racer. You are the man i wouldn’t appologize for nothing he didn’t apologize for running you up into the fence. what was his he didn’t hardly acknowledge you he wrecked slammed you. If you keep taking crap from people they keep giving it GOOD JOB giving it back!
Are you kidding me? If you are a racecar driver you know you don’t wreck someone under caution!!!! Also try reading what you type before you post it. I didn’t understand most of what you said.
Same Song, Same Dance— Go away Kyle, get some therapy because you have some insane issues in your blank little head. Or is it going to take you killing another driver before you realize what your doing? UGH!
Agree Totally!!!!
As far as Iam concerned you dont have to apologize for anything Kyle. Hornaday jacked your car up and you retaliated, Jonny on the spot. All these pussies who wanna cry and complain about your driving style secretly wish their favorite driver had the balls that you do. And if their driver had done what you did they would be defending him just like iam defending you. If everyone drove like Dale Jr., Jeff Burton and Mark Martin this sport would be dead. This sterilized politically correct version of stock car racing we have nowadays is bordering on a joke. Dont ever apologize for being who you are, thats why your fans cheer for you, support you and most importantly, buy your gear and support your sponsors. Wear that black hat with pride brother, we, your fans, will always have your back.
Think about all the cars that Dale Sr intentionally crashed before the ” BOYS HAVE AT IT” deal. Imagine what would have happened if they told 3 to go home for the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t listen to the Haters Kyle! Remember, most of them have never been a RACER!!! Most of them are probably the same idiots that piss me off everyday cuz they can’t drive a frickin street car!!! Hang in there. You have the MOST talent out there and your record WILL speak for itself!!
Yea Well KB couldn’t had done it during racing cause he wouldn’t have caught Ron & he knew it so he decides to bash Ron 1/2 lap after the yellow was out-intentionally. Luckily it took him out too & also out of the car for tomorrow. Hooray-Hooray! Lets put the racing shoe on the other foot & see the outcome! Welllll…..
Really? It was only what, 14 laps into a 147 lap race! Bahahahaha!
And the most needed for some ANGER MANAGEMENT Sessions!!!! There is a line between talented driving & race track road rage. And also Ron did not even shove KB up in the fencing-let alone intentionally under yellow-KB admitted he just couldn’t drive up there. Whah! He can join JJ in the whiners club!!
I dont beleive nothing he says…look what he did to Harvick earlier in the year…an he’s still at it….he is giving racing a bad name an should be thrown out for good….never was a fan of yours Busch an never will be now….dont ever think in your life time Kyle Busch that you will ever be as good a driver as #3 Dale Sr….cause it will never happen….an your trying is only going to get you or someone else killed, you are not now, nor will you ever be half the driver #3 was….
An open letter from this race fan:
Who wrote this letter for you? It sounds like something a five year old would write after mommy told him so supper til you get it done.
Wonder how those who are involved in fantasy racing feel tonight knowing they’re going to lose a ton of points tomorrow?
I’d like to believe you Kyle but it seems to me I’ve heard all this before, same song over and over. That smirk on your face last night when you were being interviewed by Ray Dunlap showed the real true Kyle Busch and you spoke your real true feelings which was “it wasn’t your fault”; “it’s never your fault” and I for one am tired hearing it over and over again. I am afraid you and your anger are going to get someone maimed for life or killed and no matter how much I might dislike a particular driver I never want to see a driver hurt and I hope I never have to see another one killed. Get your act together, get some help and act like a human being. You don’t own the race track, there are 42 other drivers out there on the track who want it just as much as you do so just stop being so arrogant and self-centered and learn to respect the other person and especially your fellow drivers and maybe, just maybe, sometime in the future, you might regain some of their respect. Although from what I heard today there was nobody that I heard except for Coach Gibbs who had anything good to say for and about you. How does that make you feel?
Looks like Kyle hired a speechwriter.
Just grow up and be a man
And if Kyle Busch actually wrote this or feels this way, I am six feet with a full head of hair ! In my opinion, he got off too light. They should have given Ron Hornaday five minutes alone with him, now that would have been justice served ! It seems as if Richard Childress is the only one who has the balls to take action.
I think this is one of the reasons that Joe Gibbs flew immediately down to Texas. Having seen the real Kyle Busch over the years, there’s no way this is a heartfelt apology. Immediately after the race, there was still no remorse over what he had done. There was never any remorse for his reckless behavior in the street car, when he put other people’s lives in danger. He was “testing a new car for Toyota”, and wanted to open it up and see what it would do. If you want to see what it’ll do, take it to a closed track, not a pubic street with a posted 35 MPH speed limit.
Notice how he first apologizes to Joe Gibbs Racing, his sponsors and his team? His apology to Ron Hornaday comes towards the end of the letter, almost as an afterthought. This is nothing but a Joe Gibbs demanded apology, hoping to keep Busch from being parked for the rest of the season, which he should be. If they don’t park him, they should take away the same amount of points from each of his teams that he potentially cost Hornaday in the Truck Series, the difference between 34th place and a win while leading the most laps.
Kyle you are probably doing this because you have no choice. You should not be allowed to race any series from now and all the way through 2012.You should have to pay for KHI damages and the difference in the positions Ron Hornaday was knocked out of.Then while doing all this take your whinny ass to anger managment
I just can’t wrap my brain around any apoligy from this idiot……I’m sure it was done in the KB camp because I have NEVER heard a kind word come out of his vile mouth! Finally NASCAR woke up and did something right.
What some people seem to fail to realize is that your comparing apples to oranges with trying to compare Kyle Busch’s actions to what others have done in the past. People are trying to put the “bump-n-runs” gone bad, the boys have at it “bump of displeasure” under caution into the same barrel. What Kyle did, IS NOT the same thing, as he took the “boys have at it ‘bump of displeasure’ ” to another level, a level that NASCAR has deemed “crossing the line.” Kyle got in his “bump of displeasure,” but didn’t leave it at that, it was the actions of him to keep going until he wrecked Hornaday intentionally, and in such a manner, that if it wasn’t for the HANS and SAFER barriers that Hornaday could of seen his last race (and don’t give me this should of, would of, could of, that’s racing cop-out). There wouldn’t be this issue if Kyle had just spun Hornaday out, but he knowingly took the angle of impact on the right corner of Hornaday’s truck that would send him head on into the outside wall (hitting the left corner would of sent Hornaday into the opposite direction with a greater chance of recovery). Now throw on-top that it was between two drivers, that for one was for a driver’s championship and a owner’s championship for the other; as well as, it was so early in the race, makes what happen even worse. There are going to be more penalties coming, as the one rule that always accompanies the other rule violations – Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to the sport) hasn’t been mentioned yet and you can count on it being mentioned after Monday’s meeting. This rule is so broad that it can cover just about anything and it’s fines are unlimited.
He (Kyle) probably NEVER even seen or read the letter.. Where is the apology for taking Hornaday out of the championship? The PUBLIC RELATIONS dept, does a fine job of writing these releases.
So GOOD job P.R. department.
There is absolutely nothing ‘sincere’ out of this guy, ever. The sooner he’s out of NASCAR, the better for everyone involved.
No matter what would have been said or done by NASCAR you people that are posting comments would have said the same. Somehow this goes to “you aint no good” or “you aint no #3″, I mean give that one a rest. He is talented & has some issues from time to time. Who doesnt? People are so angry with him anyways they even attack someone who supports him by trashing a man for his typing skills. Last time I checked this whole racing thing is entertainment & I loved it for the drama which is entertainment. Go pull for Dale Jr. & get more & more bitter every time Kyle wins. NASCAR would never sit him down for the remainder of the season because they are too in the entertainment business & Kyle is entertaining. I just sit here, read these comments & laugh. Man, try to be different & have an intelligent KB comment. These are all trailor park posts.
I watched from Turn 3 seat in Martinsville when the wrecking Machine of Brian Vickers came down and went after Matt Kenseth and even though he hit everything but the pace car and his Damage to Matt’s car ultimately took Busch out of the race in front of me also. So he managed to ruin at least 2 chasers and never was parked. I agree with the penalty on Kyle, But…………………
