Mattioli & CollegeComplete.com Team “Make the Grade” at Daytona; Ready for Phoenix!!
Press Release
Suffering from a gastro intestinal infection, Chase Mattioli made one of the toughest decisions of his racing career, taking himself out of the Truck and putting in Chad McCumbee. Chad and Chase had developed a great relationship as teammates in the ARCA series in 2010.
“I was not 100% and I owed it to College Complete and our other sponsors, as well as my team members to make sure the truck was in the race. It was a hard call to make, but it was the right call and we raced our way into the show. Chad is an incredible driver and a great friend, and I cannot thank him enough”, Mattioli concluded.
The initial race strategy had Chad following Kyle Busch through the field climbing as high as 14th.
“Chad matched Kyle move for move and they drafted like they were glued together,” commented Charlie Vest,Team Manager. “Unfortunately, we lost the clutch and our day ended early. If that had not happened, a top 10 was looking like a possibility. I am so proud of Chase, Chad, and Cal and all the team, and cannot wait to get to Phoenix on Friday,” Vest concluded.
The Phoenix Lucas Oil 150 is scheduled for this Friday, February 25th, with TV coverage provided by Speed TV starting at 8:00pm Eastern.
The partnership between Chase Mattioli and College Complete is the first of its kind, bringing higher education opportunities directly to the large and loyal NASCAR fan base. “As a full-time college student, Chase is the perfect choice as a NASCAR partner,” said Heather Brebaugh, principal at edideas, inc. “College Complete exists for one reason: to help students return to school. We anticipate that our partnership will help bring that opportunity to thousands of NASCAR fans across the country as we compete in all races through the 2011 NASCAR season.”
