Driven to Read plans to visit more area schools around the Camping World Truck Series circuit where Davis and his Vision Aviation Racing team will be competing in 2011.
Davis Quotes:
We had a few weeks off, how have you spent the time?
The Vision Airlines Toyota Tundra did some testing in the off week at Gresham Motorsports Park and we were also able to attend Toyota Motorsports Day in California. We got to meet a lot of Toyota employees as well as tour the Toyota museum, so that was really cool to get to see.
What are going to be your biggest challenges racing Martinsville?
Well number one is never racing there before. Being there for the first time is of course going to be a big handicap. Martinsville is a unique short track, so getting to learn the tricks of the trade for that track is really going to be important. Every track has its tricks and the faster I can learn some of them the faster I will be.
Martinsville is a two day show unlike Darlington that packed practice, qualifying and the race all into one day. Which do you prefer and why?
As a driver personally I don’t mind either. I kind of like getting it all done in one day but that makes for a long day for the crew. Usually when it’s a one day show they cram everything in and there isn’t much time to catch your breath. There are positives and negatives to both.
