No. 31 Wolfpack Rentals Chevrolet News and Notes

This Week’s Silverado… The No. 31 Wolfpack Rentals Chevrolet Silverado team will bring chassis TMS-019 to the 1.33-mile concrete Nashville Superspeedway. TMS-0019 saw racing action last fall at Texas Motor Speedway where Buescher crossed the finish line in the sixth position.

Remembering Beau … This weekend at Nashville, Turner Motorsports’ three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series entries will carry decals honoring the life of former ARCA Series competitor and Turner Motorsports employee Beau Slocumb who lost his heroic battle with cancer last weekend. Slocumb made four ARCA starts in 2009, logging an impressive 7.0 starting average combined with a solid 11.2 average finish. The 26-year-old driver logged a pair of top-10 finishes over those four starts including a career-best fifth-place finish at Kansas Speedway. Slocumb began his career racing Legends cars and climbed the professional ladder through the late model ranks, earning 131 feature wins in Legends and late model competition, and eventually making his mark in the ARCA series. He is survived by his wife Jessica, parents Burke “Buster” and Jeanne, brothers Seth and Daniel and sister Maggie. Memorials can be made to the Ryan Newman Foundation, Hospice of Iredell County (N.C.) or Hospice of Central Georgia.

Got My First Real Six String… In hopes of bringing home the custom Gibson guitar trophy on Friday night, Buescher and his Turner Motorsports teammates will take a private tour of the Gibson Guitar Factory in Nashville on Thursday afternoon. The home of Gibson electric guitars, ‘Gibson USA’ was built in ‘Music City’ in 1974.

In their Backyard… Turner Motorsports’ partner Dollar General considers Nashville Superspeedway its home track as its headquarters resides in Goodlettsville, TN. Buescher, along with his Turner Motorsports teammates, will visit the retail giant on Thursday before heading to the track.

Come and See Me… Buescher will participate in NASCAR’s autograph session on Friday, April 22nd from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. CST. The autograph session will be held in the Nashville Superspeedway Expo area located outside of Gate 3.

Watch and Listen… The Bully Hill Vineyards 200 can be seen live on Friday, April 22nd on SPEED. Race coverage will begin at 7:30 p.m. EST. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 128.

James Buescher on driving at Nashville Superspeedway

“I really enjoy racing in Nashville. Not only is the Nashville Superspeedway a great facility but the city is always buzzing. I really enjoy going downtown and listening to great live music and soaking up the sights. We are going to Dollar General Headquarters on Wednesday to meet and greet with their employees which will be a lot of fun. It is always great to meet the people that support our teams. They, along with the rest of our great partners, are the reason we get to do what we love so to go and say thanks is always fun.

“I am looking forward to this weekend. We had a great run with chassis TMS-019 last year at Texas [Motor Speedway] late in the season and we have worked hard in the off season to improve our fleet. We all have high expectations for Friday night.”
