Last race review: Justin Lofton and the No. 6 CollegeComplete.com Eddie Sharp Racing (ESR) team started the last event at Bristol Motor Speedway in the 29th position. A strong truck and a savvy driver moved them to seventh at the finish, giving Lofton his highest showing of the season. The seventh place run moved him up in the driver point standings from 18th to 15th, and also moved team owner Sharp up three positions to 18th.

Lofton at Atlanta: Lofton has one career start at the 1.54-mile Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS). Last year he started the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) event from the 22nd position, but after driving his way into the top-10, a late race restart altered the face of the race for him and his team after another truck forced him into the outside wall. The contact damaged his machine, dropping him to 20th at the finish.

Truck information: Lofton will race the Dan Bormann prepared chassis number ESR076 this Friday at AMS. The team last raced this specific chassis two races ago at the two-mile Michigan International Speedway. Lofton started the race 22nd, ran as high as first, and finished 15th after suffering three separate flat tires.

Going the distance: Entering this week’s event in Atlanta Lofton has a list of solid runs to his credit at other comparable intermediate tracks, including numerous top-15 finishes collected in Charlotte, Kentucky and Nashville, as well as a 10th place showing at Texas.

Question the competition: Lofton will be appearing at the Coca-Cola Fan Stage outside of AMS on Friday, September 2nd in between track activity. Lofton, along with other NCWTS drivers will be participating in a question and answer autograph session at 3:45 PM local time before he climbs back into his truck for qualifying in preparation for the Atlanta 200.

Lofton on Atlanta Motor Speedway: “I’m looking forward to Atlanta. We’re getting stronger as a team each week and after the seventh place run in Bristol, we have a lot of excitement and momentum. I feel like we’re owed one at Atlanta, and it’s a fast and fun truck, so we’re heading there with high hopes.”
