Huntersville, NC (9-25-11) – Plagued with a 34th-place starting position for Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) event, Jason White and the No. 23 Joe Denette Motorsports team finish 17th in the F.W. Webb 175 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Posting the third fastest time in Friday morning’s first practice session after making a mock-qualifying run, Jason White and the No. 23 Joe Denette Motorsports team felt confident heading into Saturday morning’s time trials. However, a broken line on the transmission of the GunBroker.com Chevrolet prevented White from taking a timed lap. Therefore, the rookie team would be deferred to a 34th-place starting position for the nineteenth event on the 2011 NCWTS schedule.

Battling a loose GunBroker.com machine in the opening laps of the event, White worked his way up to the 25th position by lap two and settled in to the top-20, one lap down, just before the first caution flag of the afternoon was waved at lap 62 for debris. White made his way down pit road for four tires including an air pressure adjustment, a chassis adjustment and fuel. When racing resumed on lap 65, White was scored 16th, the first truck one lap down.

A long green flag run over the remaining 102 laps of the 175-lap event prevented White from getting back on the lead lap and ultimately left the Richmond, Virginia native mired multiple laps down to race winner, Kyle Busch.

White earned the O’Reilly Auto Parts “Position Improvement Award” for gaining 17 positions en route to a 17th-place finish.

Jason White Quotes:

“Our starting position tonight really hurt us. We had a line on the transmission break during qualifying and I was never able to make a lap, forcing us to start deep in the field. At a short track, especially here, a good qualifying position is imperative. It is really hard to pass here and because of that we got put a lap down early. The truck was really tight in traffic and pit strategy didn’t play in our favor so we never could get our lap back. Today’s results do not show how hard this team worked this weekend. We were third quick in practice after making our mock qualifying run and I know had we not had technical issues we could have qualified top-five and been really good today. I know the potential of this team and we have not only come a long way, but we still have six races to go, so the season isn’t over yet.”
