NASCAR Truck Series Race 23 of 25 – Martinsville (Va.) Speedway

PAPERCLIP TRICK: When the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series unloads this weekend at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, Cale Gale will make his first career start at the historic paperclip track piloting the No. 21 Rheem Chevrolet Silverado. While this may be Gale’s first appearance at the track, this start will mark his 10th career start in the series.

Gale’s start this weekend will also mark his fourth and final Truck Series start of the 2011 season. Previously this season Gale made three truck series starts and three Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) starts, all carrying the black and red paint scheme of Rheem.

CHECK YOUR HEADLIGHTS: During the race weekend at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, Rheem launched “Chasing the Cure,” a month-long program created in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and to raise awareness of the Young Survival Coalition (YSC), a group dedicated to supporting women diagnosed with breast cancer that are under 40 years old. Check out Rheem Racing’s Facebook page to learn more, http://www.facebook.com/rheemracing.

Please visit the YSC website at www.youngsurvival.org for details on how to bid on the replica pink Rheem firesuit worn by DeLana Harvick for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Dover on October 2. The suit is autographed by Kevin and DeLana Harvick, along with the No. 29 race team. Bidding is open until October 31 with all proceeds benefiting the YSC and their programs supporting Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer Awareness.

BEFORE THE RACE: QUOTES WITH DRIVER CALE GALE:

This weekend will mark your first career start at the historic Martinsville Speedway. What are your thoughts heading into the weekend and how do you prepare to race at the track known as the paperclip? “I’m really excited about getting to race at Martinsville and I think it will be a lot of fun. I know Ron (Hornaday) and Kevin (Harvick) will be really tough just like they always are, but with them both as teammates this weekend, I can lean on them for advice as I make my first trip to the paper clip. I’m excited to get back in the truck and can’t thank Rheem enough for their support and the opportunity.”

CHASSIS HISTORY: This week the No. 21 Rheem team will unload chassis No. 045 for Gale. This chassis has several starts this season including a fourth-place finish at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway and most recently a 10th-place finish at Chicagoland Speedway.
