Ryan Blaney, No. 36 SealWrap Chevrolet Impala Darlington Raceway PreviewPress Release
NASCAR Nationwide Series: 9 of 33
Track: Darlington Raceway
Track Length: 1.366 miles
Date: May 11, 2012
After a seventh-place finish in his NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) debut, Ryan Blaney will make his first start at Darlington Raceway this weekend. He will try to learn the track Too Tough To Tame in the Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) No. 36 SealWrap Chevrolet.
TBR AT DARLINGTON – TBR will make the team’s NNS Darlington Raceway debut this weekend. The team made two starts at the South Carolina track in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Scott Riggs started 37th and finished 39th in 2009, and Blaney started 41st and finished 24th last season.
DEBUT AT THE LADY IN BLACK – Blaney will make his debut at one of NASCAR’s most difficult racetracks. Despite never racing or attending a race at the 1.366-mile track, Blaney has studied race video and in-car camera footage to help prepare for the event.
LAST RACE: RICHMOND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY – Blaney made his NNS debut under the lights at Richmond International Raceway in April. He qualified eighth for the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 and earned a seventh-place finish in the No. 36 SealWrap Chevrolet for Tommy Baldwin Racing.
CHASSIS NO. 503 – The TBR NNS team will bring chassis No. 503 to the track this weekend. This will be the second start for this chassis, which was purchased from RCR’s NNS fleet of Chevrolets. The 18-year-old racer drove the chassis in his NNS debut at Richmond International Raceway. An Earnhardt-Childress Racing engine will power the No. 36 SealWrap Chevrolet.
SEALWRAP – SealWrap Repair Tape will back the young Blaney in all six of his NNS starts this season in addition to his NKNPS races. SealWrap Repair Tape is designed for use in automotive repair, plumbing and electrical. It fixes and protects leaks or penetration from environmental elements. It is great for all those minor, do-it-yourself jobs around the house and garage. For more information, visit www.sealwrap.com.
Ryan Blaney Quotes:
ON MAKING HIS DARLINGTON DEBUT –
“Darlington is a tough track. I’m definitely thrilled for the challenge. I have spent some time looking at race footage and talking with my dad and other racers about what it takes to be successful there. We surprised a few people with a top-10 finish at Richmond, and I hope we can do the same this weekend.”
SealWrap is a great product that everyone can use. SealWrap is a repair tape that you just stretch-and- wrap around whatever you need- no adhesives or glues are needed!
The secret is SealWrap’s ability to fuse to itself. That means there are no bonding agents, adhesives or glues to make it work. It simply fuses to itself and won’t let go! Repairing irregular forms and shapes can now be handled easily. Simply STRETCH-N-WRAP!
SealWrap’s tape works in all types of weather conditions – from -55 degrees Fahrenheit to 250 degrees Fahrenheit, water tight and air tight to 100 psi of pressure. This 30 mil. tape will insulate 600 volts per mil. and can be stretched to three times its original length. In addition, the elements of weather will not affect it, allowing it to be a long lasting repair.

About Tommy Baldwin Racing:
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Crew Chief Tommy Baldwin formed Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) in 2009. Baldwin utilized a declining economy to open a NSCS team with a stringent budget. The team worked to build to full-time competition, and by the 2011 season, the team’s third season, TBR competed in every race and locked the No. 36 Chevrolet in the top-35 in NSCS Owner Points. Dave Blaney drove the No. 36 Chevrolet to TBR’s highest finish of third in the October 2011 event at Talladega Superspeedway. TBR also fielded a second car for select races in the past two seasons with multiple drivers.
Based in Mooresville, N.C., TBR will compete in the NSCS in 2012 with NASCAR veterans David Reutimann and Dave Blaney. The team will also compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series with Ryan Blaney, Bobby Santos and Ryan Truex.
