No. 11 Dollar General Toyota News and Notes:

• ·         ONE FOR THE RECORD BOOKS: Joe Gibbs Racing made NASCAR history two weeks ago with their one-two-three sweep in Dover International Speedway’s 200-mile Nationwide Series event. The three-car organization was the first NASCAR Nationwide Series team to ever accomplish this feat. Joe Gibbs Racing’s one-two-three history-making sweep included Joey Logano (No. 18 Dollar General Toyota) earning the win, Ryan Truex (No. 20 Grime Boss Toyota) in second and Brian Scott (No. 11 Dollar General Toyota) finishing in third.
• ·         DOLLAR GENERAL DOVER RECAP: Dover resulted in Dollar General’s second trip to victory lane in 2012. Logano proudly claimed the win, while Scott captured an impressive third-place finish, his best finish of the 2012 season. Scott’s third-place finish moved him up to 12^th in the Nationwide Series championship point standings, just 16 markers away from the top-10.
• ·         JOE GIBBS RACING AT MICHIGAN INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY: Joe Gibbs Racing’s Nationwide Series program has 25 starts at Michigan International Speedway with one win, eight top-five finishes and 16 top-10 finishes. Of laps contested in their 25 attempts at Michigan’s two-mile oval, JGR Nationwide Series entries have completed 98.9 percent (3046 of 3079 laps) while leading 144 laps of competition. A victory at Michigan this weekend would be Joe Gibbs Racing’s first Nationwide Series win there since 2007.
• ·         THIS WEEK ON THE NO. 11 DOLLAR GENERAL TOYOTA: Dollar General vendor partners Today and Always, STP, Oreo, Mucinex, Suave Men, Glad, Slim Jim, Kleenex, Nestle Drumstick, Gildan, Colgate and Purex will be highlighted on Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 11 Toyota Camry this weekend at Michigan International Speedway.

Brian Scott: “Last week’s third place run at Dover felt great – that’s just what we needed to get us out of our bad luck rut. Being a part of Joe Gibbs Racing’s first-ever one-two-three finish was exciting, and just makes me even more eager to go out there and continue getting our team and Dollar General better finishes.”

“I’ve only been to Michigan two times and now that they repaved it, everything will be totally different this time around. We’re not sure what to expect. I think we will be reliant on our Cup teammates and communication between our teams will be important. I have a lot of confidence in Joe Gibbs Racing and I know that when we show up we’ll be one of the most competitive teams throughout the garage. We definitely proved that last weekend in Dover. It gives us a little of a leg up –  just how good we are at preparing and doing our homework and showing up at a race track and unloading well. I also really just like Michigan. It would be fun to go up there and put a Toyota in victory lane.”

Kevin Kidd: “We’re very excited about our Dover effort two weeks ago. The JGR one-two-three effort was a great statement made by all the great men and women who work towards making our Nationwide program successful. For our 11 team specifically, I feel like it was our best total race effort this year. We were able to slowly chip away at it throughout the day, no mistakes or bad luck came our way, and at the end of the day we got the finish we deserved. It was sorely needed for our team.”

“Michigan is the biggest wild-card race of the year for us. With the repave, the track is going to be extremely fast and I expect our cars to be able to run the track wide-open. With that in mind, it will be different than any other intermediate track that we go to this year, and we may have to alter our setup to accommodate to the type of racing that we may see at Michigan.”
