No. 31 BRANDT Chevrolet News and Notes

Weekend Rewind: Chicagoland I - Justin Allgaier returned to his home track last week with the hopes of securing a second consecutive victory in front of his friends, family and over 400 BRANDT guests. After running in the top-10 for the majority of the 200-lap STP 300, Allgaier made it a nail-biter to the very end, surviving a green-white-checkered finish to bring home a third-place effort, his highest finish of the season. Allgaier remains fifth in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) point standings, 78 markers out of the lead and 36 points behind fourth place.

Media Availability – Allgaier will join Chevy Officials, Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) Representatives and fellow Chevy drivers in the Hospitality Village North Chalet at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 26 for media availability.

Elledge at Indianapolis Motor Speedway – As the NNS is making their series debut at the famed Brickyard, Allgaier has never raced at the storied track. However, BRANDT crew chief Jimmy Elledge has been there numerous times and has some solid stats to match. In 11 starts among six drivers, Elledge has one top-five and three top-10s along with two pole awards, one with then rookie Casey Mears. His last trip to IMS was back in 2010 with Reed Sorenson.

Twice A Bridesmaid…Dash4Cash – Not wanting to live up to the old adage, Allgaier finally qualified for the Nationwide Insurance Dash4Cash $100,000 prize in Indianapolis race as a result of his third-place finish at Chicagoland Speedway last weekend. In his last two attempts to qualify, Allgaier was the first driver outside the top-four series-only finishers.

Welcome Aboard Precision Tank & Equipment – The No. 31 BRANDT Chevy will feature a different paint scheme this weekend to feature one of the company’s partners that make up the “Ag Car”. Precision Tank & Equipment (PT&E) has led the way as an innovative supplier of tanks, applicators and specialized equipment for agribusiness, fire protection, civic, petroleum and industrial needs. The Virginia, Ill.-based company’s product line now includes a full range of fiberglass, stainless steel, and mild steel tanks for the various industries we serve as well as a full line of “field tough” liquid and dry application equipment for fertilizer dealers and custom applicators. Today, Precision is also fast becoming a recognized leader in the manufacturer of fire and other specialized equipment for civic or industrial use

Returning to Lucas Oil Raceway Park (LORP) - Allgaier will have the chance to return to LORI this weekend even though the NNS has moved to the Brickyard. He will once again have the opportunity to join Rick Allen and Phil Parsons in the SPEED broadcast booth for the ARCA Series race on Friday night. Coverage begins at 9:00 p.m. ET.

This Week’s Impala – This weekend, Allgaier will drive TMS-330 in the Indy 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This is a brand new car for the BRANDT team, having only been to the wind tunnel for testing.

Allgaier on getting to race at the Brickyard:

“I am very excited to have the chance to race at the Brickyard this weekend. I don’t see how you couldn’t be. I remember going to the track with my Dad as a boy and thinking what an amazing thing it would be to be able to race there one day. There is just so much history there. I can’t even begin to imagine how amazing it would be to have the opportunity to win the inaugural Nationwide Series race there and kiss the bricks with the team. I honestly think that would be one of the highlights of my career. Period.”

Allgaier on qualifying for the Nationwide Insurance Dash4Cash:

“It was so great to finally be able to qualify for the Dash4Cash after Chicago last weekend. To come up just one spot shy twice in a row was kind of a kick in the gut. But to be able to be in it at Indy and have a shot to win that bonus is a great feeling. I can’t thank the folks at Nationwide enough for making that available to us series-only guys again this year.”
