Jason Bowles And His No. 81 American Majority Racing Toyota Camry Ready For Watkins Glen This Weekend
Press Release
Jason on Watkins Glen….. “Watkins Glen is a great track that I really enjoy racing on. It’s a really beautiful area and the fans are always really into the racing. We had our best race of the season at the last road race in Elkhart Lake so we are all hoping for much of the same. These next two weeks will be our team’s best chance to get a top-10 finish all season long and I’m really looking forward to the opportunity.”
Road Racing Specialist….. Growing up with the goal of running Indy Cars, Jason has an extensive history in road racing. His experience running open wheeled and sports cars on road courses transferred very well to running a stock car as well. In eight road racing starts in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, Jason won four times. One time at Miller Motorsports Park, once at Fontana’s road course, and twice at Sears Point.
20 races into the season….. 20 races into the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series season, the MacDonald Motorsports team is having one of, if not the best season they have ever had. Even with the bad luck last weekend in Iowa, the American Majority No. 81 currently sits 22nd in the owner standings, just 15 points out of the top-20. Jason is currently 14th in the driver standings but just 52 points away from 9th.
Iowa recap….. Iowa went from looking like a promising run in the top-15 to a disappointing 29th place finish in a hurry. After advancing from his 22nd place starting position to 15th, Bowles and his American Majority team were very optimistic for a strong finish. Unfortunately, the brakes failed shortly before halfway, sending Jason to the pits. The team did an excellent job getting the car back out as quickly as possible and were still able to salvage a top-30 finish, gaining some valuable points.
Employee Spotlight – Ryan Hess….. Growing up right here in Mooresville, NC, Ryan Hess has been working for MacDonald Motorsports for four years now, more than any other employee. At the shop, Ryan is a jack of all trades, handling multiple responsibilities. On top of being a mechanic on the race car, Ryan is in charge of decals, tires, parts running, loading the hauler, and even serves as the gas man for the American Majority No. 81 on race day. Hess is the go-to guy at the shop for almost any question and a key member of the MacDonald Motorsports team.
Watch the race….. Fans can catch the race from Watkins Glen this Saturday. The Zippo 200 will air live on ABC at 2pm ET.
