2012 NNS Dollar General 300 Final Practice Session Speeds
Timing & Scoring
The current series points leader, Elliott Sadler, was second fastest with a lap speed of 175.838 mph, and was followed by another rookie contender, Brad Sweet (175.188 mph) who was third fastest, Justin Allgaier (174.972 mph) fourth and Paul Menard (174.791) was fifth fastest.
Series rookie contender and the fastest during the first practice session, Cole Whitt (174.227 mph) was sixth fastest, while Danica Patrick (174.087 mph) was seventh fastest, Sam Hornish, Jr. (173.617) eighth, Joe Nemechek (173.316) ninth and Joey Logano (173.299) rounding out the top-ten fastest during the “Happy Hour” (final) practice session.
The teams will return Saturday for their 12:05 PM (ET) qualifying session to determine the starting lineup for the 2nd annual Dollar General 300, which is set to get underway around 3:50 PM (ET) that afternoon, and ESPN2 will provide television coverage beginning with their 3:00 PM (ET) pre-race show.
