MOORESVILLE, N.C. (September 20, 2012) – Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) and TeamSLR formed a technical alliance to assist TeamSLR in their transition to NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) competition. Lagasse will pilot the No. 8 Hybridlight/BSA Chevrolet in three events this season. TBR will provide chassis and crew, including Crew Chief Brad Parrott. The Hybridlight/BSA team will make their debut this weekend at Kentucky Speedway, as Lagasse competes in the Kentucky 300.

Lagasse made 41 starts in the NNS since his debut in 2005. The St. Augustine, Fla., native scored five top-10 and 12 top-15 finishes and eight top-10 starts. TeamSLR is the creation of Lagasse as he continues to grow his family-run race team into the upper levels of NASCAR. The team competes regularly and wins consistently in dirt and asphalt races in the Southeast of the U.S. Team SLR includes a successful driver development program and will expand to NNS competition beginning at Kentucky Speedway this weekend.

“Tommy is really a bright guy and has a tremendous amount of experience in the sport,” explained Lagasse. “We couldn’t ask for a better fit for our needs at this point, and we are excited to be working with Tommy, Brad Parrott and the guys at TBR.”

TBR made its NNS debut this season at Daytona International Speedway in February. The team made eight starts this season with four different drivers. Ryan Blaney tallied the team’s best start of eighth at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) in April. Blaney also tallied the team’s best finish of seventh at RIR and Bristol Motor Speedway.

“We are pleased that TeamSLR and Scott looked to us for a technical alliance,” commented TBR Owner Tommy Baldwin. “We made our Nationwide debut this season and have seen really positive results. I think Scotty and his team are taking the right steps to transition into the Nationwide Series, and I’m happy that our team can help them during this growth period.”

Lagasse will hit the track Friday, September 21 for practice. He will attempt to qualify the No. 8 Hybridlight / BSA Chevrolet into the Kentucky 300 on Saturday, September 22. ESPN2 will provide coverage of the 300-mile event.
