2012 NSCS Toyota/Save Mart 350 First Practice Session Speeds
Timing & Scoring
Martin Truex, Jr., was second fastest with a lap speed of 94.471 mph, and was followed by Clint Bowyer (94.440 mph) who was third fastest, Joey Logano (94.387 mph) fourth and Kyle Busch (94.348 mph) was fifth fastest.
Rounding out the top-ten fastest during the practice session were Ryan Newman (94.341) who was sixth fastest, Marcos Ambrose (94.314 mph) seventh, David Gilliland (94.293) eighth, Kurt Busch (94.291) ninth and Jimmie Johnson (94.284) posting the tenth fastest lap speed.
Weather permitting, the teams will return this evening (or afternoon on the west coast) for their 6:40 PM (TV Taped-Delayed by SPEED at 11:00 PM ET) scheduled qualifying session, and then return Saturday for two more practice sessions (12:30 PM – 1:15 PM & “Happy Hour:” 1:45 PM – 3:00 PM ET).
The 24th annual Toyota/Save Mart 350 is scheduled to get underway Sunday, June 24th, at approximately 3:20 PM (ET) with television coverage provided by TNT beginning with their 2:00 PM (ET) pre-race show.
