Jason White, No. 23 GunBroker.com Ford F-150 Iowa Speedway PreviewPress Release
American Ethanol 200
Jason White on Iowa:“The track at Iowa is a fun one as it is a combination of a short track and a speedway. I haven’t had the best runs there over the last few years, but this GunBroker.com team is giving me some of the best trucks I have ever had and that is key for Iowa. Just like other short tracks, passing is tough so track position and qualifying will be a premium this week. Iowa Speedway does a great job of promoting our races so the crowds are always large and enthusiastic. In turn, the trucks put on a great show and there is no reason to expect anything different this week. We are coming off a solid race in Kentucky and it is time for me and this team to build some serious momentum as we enter the middle part of the season.”
Jason at Iowa Speedway: This will mark Jason’s fourth career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at the Newton, Iowa track. His best finish was 23rd during the 2010 season after starting from the same position. Jason’s average starting spot is 16.3 at the Iowa track while his average finish is 24.0. The start on Saturday night will mark White’s 138th career start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Race Rewind: Jason White would end up battling the heat and a brand new No. 23 GunBroker.com Ford but persevered with a solid 11th place finish in the running of the UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway. White started the 150-lap event from the 12th position as a result of his qualifying effort earlier in the day. The early stages of the race saw White and the Doug George led GunBroker.com team try multiple adjustments as they worked to get a grip on their new truck out on its maiden voyage. The multiple changes seemed to work as the race progressed with Jason moving his way inside the top-10 before settling for the 11th place finish.
The Kentucky finish helped Jason climb up to 11th position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers’ standings – only one point out of the top-10.
“Bullet” Set to Fire in Iowa: The GunBroker.com team will be bringing the truck they nicknamed “Bullet” to Iowa Speedway this week. In honor of the team’s sponsor,GunBroker.com, the GB Racing team uses gun and shooting themed names for most of their trucks – thus the name “Bullet”. “Bullet” last raced in Texas where it led the field and ran up front before front end nose damage resulted in a 17th place finish. “Bullet’ also ran in Charlotte and Kansas earlier this season and led 29 laps in those two races.
Meet Jason White: Jason White will join other NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers for an autograph session at Iowa Speedway from 2:15 – 3:15 p.m. CT on Saturday under the grandstands in Turn 4. Come see Jason and the other stars of the series before they take the green flag for the running of the American Ethanol 200.
Home Sweet Home: Jason White and his GunBroker.com team will enjoy the feeling of home while in Iowa this week at the Holiday Inn Des Moines Airport/ Conference Center. Situated close to area treasures, such as Drake University, and adjacent to the Des Moines Airport, this hotel provides a prime location in the midst of the best Des Moines offers. With added perks like a tropical courtyard, the property provides a unique and comfortable atmosphere for business and leisure travelers alike.
