(TOLEDO, Ohio) - The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards is heading home, or so it should feel anyway.

When the renowned stock car tour converges on the small, southern Indiana city of Salem, it will mark the 94th appearance of ARCA at Salem since debuting on the historic half-mile oval in 1955. Over the years, no track has appeared on ARCA’s annual schedule more than Salem has.

The Kentuckiana Ford Dealers Fall Classic presented by Federated Car Care is set to go under the lights at Salem Saturday night, September 14.

In addition to the thrilling spectacle of watching 3400 lb. steel-bodied ARCA cars bump and grind around the rough, challenging high-banked track, local legend and favorite Frank Kimmel has a couple extra reasons to put the hammer down on his No. 44 Ansell-Menards Toyota.

For starters, the Clarksville, Indiana born-and-bred driver is trying to surpass Iggy Katona as the all-time ARCA winner – each has 79 victories. And that’s not all. Kimmel is also aiming for a record 10th ARCA win at Salem while chasing what would be his 10th series title.

“There’s a lot on the line,” said Kimmel, the current ARCA Racing Series championship point leader. “Naturally, we want to win at home, and if we do, it puts us that much closer to the championship. The Ansell-Menards Toyota has been good everywhere, but you just don’t know when that next win will come. They’re too hard to come by to take anything for granted.”

Kimmel has already won three times in 2013 with victories at Talladega Superspeedway, Elko Speedway and Winchester Speedway. However, his last win at Salem was exactly five years ago.

“It’s been way too long (without winning at Salem). Nothing would mean more to me than to get back to victory lane there. Salem’s always been very special because it’s home. We’ve got so much support there from family, friends, fans, you name it. Each victory is more special than the one before.”

Practice for the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic is scheduled from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m., with a final practice to follow from 1:45 to 2:30. Menards Pole Award Qualifying presented by Ansell is at 4. The Salem Street Stocks will get the racing action started with a 50-lap feature event at 5:30, followed by the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic at 7:15. will feature live timing and scoring of all on-track activity, as well as live audio for the race.
