Matt Kenseth No. 18 GameStop/Turtle Beach Toyota Preview

DRIVE4COPD 300 at Daytona International Speedway

No. 18 GameStop/Turtle Beach Toyota News and Notes:

  • ·         KENSETH’S DOUBLE-DUTY: In addition to competing in Sunday’s DAYTONA 500, Kenseth will also pilot the No. 18 GameStop/Turtle Beach Toyota in Saturday’s DRIVE4COPD 300 at Daytona International Speedway. Saturday’s 120-lap event will be Kenseth’s first Nationwide Series start since his one and only start at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May 2011 where he started third and went on to earn the win.
  • ·         RESTRICTOR PLATE ACE?: During the 2012 Sprint Cup Series season, Kenseth became synonymous with superspeedway track success at both Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway as he claimed a win as well as a top-three finish at both tracks that season.
  • ·         THIS WEEK ON THE NO. 18 TOYOTA: Turtle Beach joins GameStop this weekend on the No. 18 promoting Turtle Beach’s Ear Force XP SEVEN gaming headset, plugging gamers into the power of tournament grade audio performance from start to finish. As the official headset of Major League Gaming (MLG), the XP SEVEN is for the competitor seeking Dolby® Surround Sound, adjustable surround sound angles, and a fully programmable digital signal processor (DSP). The customizable DSP allows gamers to enhance and personalize the entire sonic experience by shifting in and out of audio mods with a simple touch on the XP SEVEN’s control unit. Featuring a sleek new design, the XP SEVEN is the ultimate audio tool for console gamers, and its distinctive look will be visible on Kenseth’s car as it cuts through the field Saturday.
  • ·         RACE INFO: The DRIVE4COPD 300 at Daytona International Speedway begins at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, February 23, 2013. The race will be broadcast on ESPN and MRN Radio.

From the Cockpit:

Matt Kenseth: “I’m really looking forward to racing in the Nationwide series again this season, and I’m thrilled to be driving the GameStop Toyota.  I really feel like we had a great week with our Cup series programs last week in regards to speed and handling so I feel confident that we’ll have more of the same on the Nationwide side as well.  I’m excited to get on track and start working with Matt (Lucas) and the entire No. 18 team and starting our season off on the right foot.”

From the Pit Box:

Matt Lucas: “We’re excited to work with Matt for his first Nationwide series start with JGR and this team is really looking forward to the season ahead.  Our game plan for this weekend at Daytona is to go down there and use the practice sessions to get everyone comfortable with each other in order to make sure that we get Matt (Kenseth) everything that he needs.  It’s our first time with everyone coming together coming out of the box, but I’m really confident in this team and hope to have a great race for our GameStop/Turtle Beach Toyota.”
