Tyler Young Finishes Third in X1-R Pro Cup Race at Hickory Motor SpeedwayPress Release
“We started sixth and we were tight early. The leaders’ pace was much faster than we expected so we just let them go and focused on being there at the end,” Tyler said. “We made several pit stops to do what we could to get it better and near the end we picked up and once the tires wore out the leaders backed up to us. It was a good run for our first time out with the Pro Cup car this year. We’re excited about going to Anderson (SC) Speedway in a couple of weeks!”
The Texas native started 22nd and finished 24th last Sunday in his 2013 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at the Rockingham Speedway in Rockingham, N.C. during the NC Education Lottery 200 presented by Cheerwine with his Randco Industries/Young’s Building Systems Chevy.
“We had a really good day at Rockingham,” nodded Tyler. “I got in the wall a little bit with about five laps left but other than that we accomplished our mission which was to finish the race and learn. We know we have a ways to go in that series and the more seat time we get, the better. We’re planning to go to Charlotte in May. That will be fun because I’ve never run on a mile-and-a-half track like that. We hope our fans will all come out and join us on a really big weekend there.”
