Friday afternoon at Dover International Speedway, Denny Hamlin, with a qualifying lap speed of 157.978 mph, captured the 2013 NSCS FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks Coors Light Pole Award.

This was Hamlin’s third series pole of the 2013 season, his fifteenth series career pole and his second series pole at the “Monster Mile.”

Sharing the front row with Hamlin on the outside pole with a qualifying lap speed of 157.798 mph, will be Martin Truex, Jr., followed by Kyle Busch (157.756 mph) who will start third, Matt Kenseth (157.736) fourth and Ryan Newman (157.715) starts fifth.

Claiming the sixth starting position with a lap speed of 157.604 mph, was Mark Martin and he will be followed by Kevin Harvick (157.549) who will start seventh, the two Penske Racing teammates Brad Keselowski and Joey (with the identical lap speed of 157.480) starting eighth and ninth respectively, and Jamie McMurray (157.405) rounds out the top-ten starting positions.

There was no one who failed to make the starting lineup.

The teams will return to the track Saturday for two more practice sessions, which begins with a morning session from 10:00 am – 10:55 am (ET) and then their “Happy Hour” (final) practice session will be from 12:50 pm – 1:50 pm (ET).

The 44th annual FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks is scheduled to get started around 1:20 pm (ET), and FOX will begin their final television race coverage of the season with their pre-race show at 12:30 pm (ET).
