The new NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Gen-6 car once again breaks another qualifying track record, as the defending series champion, Brad Keselowski, with a qualifying lap speed of 135.922 mph, captures the 2013 Camping World RV Sales 301 Coors Light Pole Award at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Keselowski, who broke Ryan Newman’s 07/17/2011 series qualifying track record speed of 135.232 mph, received his first series pole of the 2013 season, his third series career pole and his second series pole at “the magic mile.” Keselowski’s last pole came at Charlotte in May of 2011 – 78 races ago.

The top-nine qualifiers all broke the previous qualifying track record.

Originally starting second on the outside pole with a qualifying lap speed of 135.902 mph, was to be the current series points leader, Jimmie Johnson, but his car failed post-qualifying inspection (front of the No. 48 Chevy was too low on both sides) and his time disallowed. Johnson will now start 43rd.

Now starting second on the outside pole will be Kurt Busch (135.835 mph) followed by Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (135.786 mph) who will start third, Kyle Busch (135.757) fourth and Jeff Gordon (135.525 mph) will start fifth

Rounding out the top-ten starting positions will be  Carl Edwards (135.487 mph) who will start sixth, Denny Hamlin (135.482) seventh, Kasey Kahne (135.333) eighth, Jeff Burton (135.246)  ninth and Juan Pablo Montoya (135.107) starting from the tenth position.

With only 43 drivers attempting to fill the 43-car field, no one failed to make the starting lineup.

The teams return on Saturday for two more practice sessions beginning in the morning from 9:00 am – 9:55 am (ET) and then their “Happy Hour” (final) practice session from 11:20 am – 12:20 pm (ET).

The 21st annual Camping World RV Sales 301 is schedule to get underway around 1:20 pm (ET) on Sunday, and TNT will provide television coverage of the event beginning with their 12:00 pm (ET) Countdown to Green pre-race program.
