The defending NSCS Watkins Glen Int’l champion, Marcos Ambrose, with a new qualifying track record of 128.241 mph (previous record of 127.020 mph, was set by Juan Pablo Montoya last year) captured the 2013 Cheez-It 355 at the Glen Coors Light Pole Award Saturday afternoon.

This was Ambrose’s first series pole of the 2013 season, his third series career pole and his first series pole at Watkins Glen Int’l.

The top-ten qualifiers all broke the previous qualifying track record.

Starting on the outside pole in second with a lap speed of 127.958 mph, will be Clint Bowyer, followed by Martin Truex, Jr. (127.462 mph) starting third, AJ Allmendinger (127.433) fourth and Kyle Busch (127.400) starts fifth.

Rounding out the top-ten starting positions will be Jamie McMurray (127.374 mph) who will start sixth, Paul Menard (127.146) seventh, Brad Keselowski (127.141) eighth, Joey Logano (127.111) ninth and Matt Kenseth (127.038) will start from the tenth position.

Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year (ROTY) contender, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. (124.576 mph) was the highest qualifying rookie with his 33rd-place starting position, while ROTY contender Danica Patrick (123.750) will start from 35th.

With only 43 drivers attempting to fill the 43-car field, no one failed to make the starting lineup.

The 28th annual Cheez-It 355 at the Glen is scheduled to get underway around 1:20 pm (ET) Sunday afternoon, and ESPN will provide television coverage beginning with their 12:00 pm (ET) NASCAR Countdown pre-race show.
