This was Sadler’s 2nd series pole of the 2012 season, his 13th series career pole and his second series pole at Iowa Speedway.
Starting second on the outside pole with a qualifying lap speed of 133.294 mph, will be Sam Hornish, Jr., followed by Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. (133.114 mph) starting third, Michael McDowell (133.085) fourth and Justin Allgaier (132.514) will start fifth.
NNS Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender, Austin Dillon (132.414 mph) will start sixth, while Brian Scott (132.220) starts seventh, Darrell Wallace, Jr. (132.192 – and making his series debut) eighth, Danica Patrick (132.042) ninth and Parker Kligerman (131.937) rounds out the top-ten qualifying positions.
With only 42 cars attempting to qualify for the 43 starting positions, there was no one failing to make the starting lineup.
