Mansfield Motorsports Park Emphasizes
Fan Value for NASCAR Craftsman Truck Race: With gas prices continuing to rise and the economy slumping, many race fans have been forced to follow their favorite sport from the couch rather than the grandstand. Mansfield Motorsports Park’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Ohio 250 still offers fans across Ohio a cost-effective avenue for the state’s racing fans to get their big league racing fix. “When we first brought NASCAR back to Ohio in 2004, gas prices were hovering around $1.50 per gallon,” said MMP public relations manager Charles Krall. “Now, gas is nearly $3.30 a gallon. That hurts. A lot of the NASCAR fans in the state have been forced to give up on going to Bristol or Martinsville because the cost to drive has gone from $50 or $60 to $120 or more. That’s before you add tickets, hotel, food, a program and T-shirt. That trip can easily run into a thousand dollars.”
