PRESS RELEASE

ARCA RE/MAX Series Star Power
Coming to Toledo Speedway May 17, 18

ARCA Press Release

TOLEDO OH (4-18-08) – The Hantz Group 200 presented by Federated Car Care is on its way to Toledo Speedway Sunday, May 18th. The event marks the 63rd appearance of the ARCA RE/MAX Series at its hometown track.

The race is already shaping up to be one of the most competitive and exciting in series history with entries from NASCAR veterans’ Ken Schrader and David Ragan.

Schrader has four wins at Toledo at 1997, 2004, 2005 and 2006.

“One of the things I really like about Toledo; it’s got multiple grooves, and you can pass on the outside if you need to, which is real helpful on a tight little short-track.

“But it’s more than that; I’m just a really big fan of the series (ARCA). I have a lot of respect for the club. Toledo’s its hometown track, and I really enjoy being there for all of it. We’re looking forward to running at Rockingham and DuQuoin (mile-dirt) later this year too. I’m just a real fan of a series that runs all those different types of places.

“I’ll probably go run my dirt car somewhere Saturday night.”

Ragan, who utilized the ARCA RE/MAX Series as a stepping stone to NASCAR, won the pole at Toledo in 2005 and finished second to Frank Kimmel in the race.

Ragan currently drives the AAA Ford in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for Roush Fenway Racing. Ragan announced in a press conference at Toledo Speedway in March of his intentions to compete in both ARCA RE/MAX Series races at Toledo in 2008.

In addition, entries are expected from nine-time series champion/nine-time Toledo winner Frank Kimmel and Formula 1 veteran Scott Speed, who drives the Red Bull Toyota for Eddie Sharp Racing.

Other entries will include defending race winner Ken Butler III, current point leader Justin Allgaier, five-time Daytona winner Bobby Gerhart, Roush Fenway Racing development driver Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., Dodge development driver Tayler Malsam, Westby, Wisconsin’s Dexter Bean, Phoenix, Arizona’s Gabi DiCarlo and Denver, North Carolina’s Matt Carter, who is the son of longtime NASCAR team owner Travis Carter. Carter replaced Kimmel as the driver of the Larry Clement-owned no. 46 Ford Fusion.

The ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series will join the festivities with the Champion Credit Union 50 lap feature event Saturday, May 17th, the same day the ARCA RE/MAX Series cars practice and set the starting field in SIM Factory Pole Qualifying. The Hantz Group 200 by Federated Car Care is scheduled to roll off Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm ET.

In addition, the 4th Annual Fan Fest will accompany the ARCA double-header weekend Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm with interactive attractions, race car haulers and much more.
