PRESS RELEASE

Chevrolet Kansas NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Post Race Notes & Quotes
GM Racing Communications Press Release

Kansas City, Kansas - April 26, 2008: Defending NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) champion Ron Hornaday, Jr., brought home his 34th career victory in the O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 behind the wheel of the No. 33 Camping World Silverado fielded by Kevin Harvick, Inc. (KHI). It was the first victory of the 2008 season for the three-time NCTS champion and his first at Kansas Speedway. His best previous finish was sixth in the 2007 race.

Hornaday started on the pole, his career 17th, and led five times for a total of 136 laps of the 167-lap race. The victory vaulted Hornaday to the lead in the NCTS standings by 61 points over second place with five races in the books.

With the victory, Hornaday extended his lead as most NCTS wins holder. The win elevated crew chief Rick Ren to the leader in NCTS crew chief victories with a total of 16 race trophies.

Jack Sprague, No. 2 American Commercial Lines Silverado and Hornaday's KHI teammate, finished second by just 0.149 second. Sprague, also a three-time NCTS champion, led twice for a total of eight laps. With his best finish of the season, Sprague jumped six places to currently ride ninth in the standings.

Chad McCumbee, No. 8 Malcolmson Construction Silverado, finished seventh after starting on the outside of the front row. He led for 16 laps and gained five spots in the points, to sit in eighth.

The win pulled Chevrolet within four points of the NCTS Manufacturers' Standings leader and extended the Bowtie brand's lead over third by six points.

The next race for the NCTS is at Lowe's Motor Speedway, Concord, NC on Friday, May 16, 2008.

RON HORNADAY, JR. – NO. 33 CAMPING WORLD CHEVROLET SILVERADO, STARTED 1ST, FINISHED 1ST

You’ve taken over the points lead today with the win, tell us about your day.

“Can’t say nothing bad about it. I’ve first of all got to thank all the fans who are still standing out there. It was awesome but the sun popped out there at one point and I had a little sun in my eyes but I’ve got to thank Chevrolet, Camping World and all the guys on this Camping World Chevrolet team because this is cool. Mark Smith really stepped up the motor program with this package and its really making our job easier.

It was a lot of fun and I was going to try and make a race out of it and Sprague almost caught me and I was like “wow”. So this is what it’s all about because I believe in these guys in hanging these bodies and the first time I saw this truck is the first day that I got down here and sat in it. I just have a lot of faith in these guys and when you get the truck off the trailer you can hold it wide open. I really appreciate it because I hadn’t won here in Kansas so this is cool.

What about that last restart with your teammate Jack Sprague behind you. It looked like he almost got you there on the backstretch of the final lap?

“I actually breathed it a little bit to make some kind of race out of it and I got a little sideways when I got down in the corner of turn three and he was a lot closer than I thought but it would have been a heck of a wreck if he would have gotten to the outside. I was actually loose and we made the (truck) a little freer on that last run and it would have been a wreck if he would have gotten to the outside.

The only thing faster than your Silverado today were the fingers of your crew chief Rick Ren’s fingers trying to figure out fuel mileage today. You guys had excellent pit work and it took a lot of pit strategy today for you guys to win.

“I’m glad that was on Rick Ren’s head because everyone is just as cool as they can be on this Camping World Chevrolet. I also have to thank VFW to come on board with us. I am sure the hair on Rick’s head turned grayer today but that’s what it’s all about.”

JACK SPRAGUE – NO. 2 AMERICAN COMMERCIAL LINES CHEVROLET SILVERADO, STARTED 3RD, FINISHED 2ND

Sometimes second is the best you can do and you’ve done it twice here. Did you have anything for your teammate Hornaday?

“I don’t know, you know we both had good trucks here all weekend. I think I might have been better on the long runs, and on that last run, but I had to use a bit too much of the truck up coming from the back and I was also a little bit too tight too. So I don’t know. We both had great trucks and we finished one-two, but I really wanted to win this race really bad and I tried really hard to stay out of trouble but we just came up one short. But who better to lose to than your teammate?”

“I just want to thank American Commercial Lines, Chevrolet and Pro Motors because we had a great motor, we had great race trucks too, but I just came up a bit short today. It was a great race for my team together and we’re going to get better but overall it was a great day for KHI.”
