PRESS RELEASE

ARCA RE/MAX Series Winners at Kentucky Speedway Way Impressive; Kentucky Victory Lane Fast Track to NASCAR
ARCA Press Release

SPARTA KY (5-1-08) – The ARCA RE/MAX Series has long been a proving ground for up and coming stock car racers who hold visions and dreams of racing one day in the upper leagues of NASCAR.

Many of those dreams were realized, in part, via the ARCA RE/MAX Series at Kentucky Speedway where the list of former winners is as impressive as it gets. From the looks of that particular list, an ARCA RE/MAX Series victory at Kentucky does indeed pay dividends down the road.

Penske powerhouse Ryan Newman made the leap from ARCA to NASCAR shortly after his ARCA RE/MAX Series victory at Kentucky in 2000, the inaugural season for the 1.5-mile superspeedway facility.

Following Newman’s momentous win, nine-time ARCA RE/MAX Series champion Frank Kimmel busted out three consecutive victories during his championship reign.

Then Kyle Busch, from the Hendrick Motorsports stables, stepped up with an ARCA RE/MAX Series victory at Kentucky in 2003. Soon after, Busch was making news in all three of NASCAR’s highest divisions.

In more recent times dating back to 2006, Steve Wallace, Brad Coleman, Erik Darnell and Michael McDowell have all been ARCA RE/MAX Series winners at Kentucky. While Wallace, Coleman and Darnell are plenty busy in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, McDowell has found a fulltime home in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with Michael Waltrip Racing.

Who will be the next ARCA RE/MAX Series winner at Kentucky? With competition in the series at an all-time high, it’s impossible to say. But if history repeats itself, whoever that winner may be; there’s a good chance that particular ARCA RE/MAX Series winner at Kentucky Speedway is going places.

Bill Davis Racing’s Michael Annett Leads Hoosier Superspeedway Challenge Points Headed to Kentucky

Bill Davis Racing’s Michael Annett will certainly be one to watch. With a plan to focus fulltime on the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2009, Annett is competing for the ARCA Hoosier Superspeedway Challenge Championship in 2008. The Hoosier Superspeedway Challenge title is a separate point fund made up of all the superspeedway races on the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. Currently, Annett, who opened the year with a big victory at Daytona, leads the Hoosier Superspeedway Challenge headed to Kentucky for the next event.

Erin Crocker, following a runner-up finish and a pole award at Kentucky in 2007, made history last year as ARCA’s first-ever female Hoosier Superspeedway Challenge Champion.

The May 10th Drive Smart! Buckle Up Kentucky 150 at Kentucky Speedway also includes a same-day 100-lap feature event from the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series on the adjoining quarter mile track. Practice for the ARCA RE/MAX Series is from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm followed by SIM Factory Pole Qualifying at 3:30. The Drive Smart! Buckle Up Kentucky 150 is slated to get underway at 8:00 pm ET.
