PRESS RELEASE

Andy & Jennifer Belmont Seek Ultimate Anniversary Gift at Kentucky
Andy Belmont Racing Press Release

(Concord, NC) May 7, 2008 -- Andy Belmont Racing heads to Kentucky this week full of promise, high expectations, and family celebrations. Friday, May 9th marks the 16th wedding anniversary of Andy & Jennifer Belmont, long time ARCA competitors and owner of the #1 MAACO/Boudreaux’s Buttpaste Ford Fusion.

“We’ll be celebrating our anniversary just like we’ve done all our previous ones,” said Andy. “On the road with our kids and our crew. I’d like to give Jenn a trip for our anniversary- all the way to Victory Lane, but barring that as long as the family is happy and healthy, it’s all good. We keep these things in perspective.”

Testing at Kentucky was scrubbed last month due to an unusual amount of water seepage on the track, so the ABR crew is leaning on its Kansas experience for a good run at Kentucky. The chassis on deck for the Drive Smart! Buckle Up Kentucky 150 is “69”, a former Yates machine that previously finished 13th at Kansas for the ABR team.

“Not being able to test in Kentucky puts us at a little bit of a disadvantage,” said Andy Belmont. “But Tom Hessert has shown he has no issues adapting to these new tracks, so we’re not concerned about our run in Kentucky. We still haven’t found the sweet spot in this car but we’re closer than we were in Kansas and practice will help us a ton.”

“Our team has always raced well at Kentucky,” said team owner Jennifer Belmont. “We made a pact after Salem that the 15th place finish we had there will be the lowest we finish all season. Our team is committed to finishing better and better each race and heading into Kentucky tied for 3rd in points has given our guys a great boost in confidence. We expect to have a top five qualifying run and a top five car all day.”

“I’ve never been at Kentucky, but this will be my second time on a mile and a half, so I think we’re good to go,” said Hessert. “These 100 lap races are more like 100 lap sprint races. I’m really looking forward to the race in Kentucky. It’s like a Saturday night shootout, racing under the lights. We just need to go out, race smart and chip away at the top two points guys and tighten up the points battle with a good finish.”
