PRESS RELEASE

Consistency Continues For RAB Racing;
Up To Third In Points

RAB Racing Press Release

CONCORD, NC (5/12/08) A big weekend for SunTrust Rookie of the year contender, John Wes Townley, as he takes home a career best fifth place finish at Kentucky Speedway in only his sixth start in the ARCA RE/MAX Series.

With an eighth place starting spot for the Drive Smart! Buckle Up 150, Townley fought a tight car early on and fell out of the top-15, but after bringing the No.09 Zaxby’s/SPS/BB&T/Saxon Group Ford Fusion down pit road for adjustments, he soon began working his way back through the field.

With only 20 laps to go and sitting 13th, Townley was poised to take home another top-15. However, a few late-race cautions allowed Townley to capitalize on the restarts and walk away with the first top-5 finish of his ARCA RE/MAX Series career.

“I am really proud of the overall effort at Kentucky,” John Wes Townley stated. “The RAB Racing team was really well prepared and did a great job during practice and qualifying to put us in the best possible position to contend in this race. We fought a tight car early on, but were able to come in and make the adjustments needed. Robby (Benton) chose the right pit strategy and so with the extra 12 laps, fuel mileage wasn’t a concern and we only had to concentrate on getting up front.”

This fifth place finish marks the sixth consecutive top-15 finish for Townley and advances both Townley and RAB Racing to third in the ARCA RE/MAX Series driver and owner Championship points standings, just 45 points shy of leader, Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

“I am so excited about the way this year has gone so far,” Townley stated. “I don’t think anyone expected us to be doing as well as we are. My confidence and the team's confidence have skyrocketed and as a result, we've been able to make huge gains in both the owners and drivers points early on in this season.”

Next up for the ARCA RE/MAX Series is Toledo Speedway for the Hantz Group 200 by Federated Car Care. Although Townley has no experience in an ARCA car at Toledo Speedway, he is familiar with the track as he competed there in the ASA Late Model Challenge Series in 2007.

“I'm excited to go to Toledo because our short track program is so strong and with our momentum and approach to each race, I think we can really contend for another top-5 or possibly a win. I love racing these types of tracks and I look forward to doing what I can to get the Zaxby’s-SPS Ford Fusion up front.”

The Hantz Group 200 by Federated Car Care is the seventh among 21 races on the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule and is set for Sunday, May 17, 2008 beginning at 2:00 PM ET, with live timing and scoring on arcaracing.com.
