DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Over 475 fans have purchased Daytona International Speedway’s Michael Waltrip Daytona 500 Celebration Offer ticket package leaving only a handful of the special tickets remaining.

To mark Waltrip’s 25th year in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Daytona International Speedway and Waltrip, who captured the Daytona 500 in 2001 and 2003, created the ticket offer in January.

The $129 package includes:

  • A ticket to the 52nd annual Daytona 500
  • Question and answer session with Waltrip on the morning of the Daytona 500
  • Celebration party with Waltrip, featuring cakes, beverages and other giveaway items
  • Autographed commemorative event ticket
  • And each race fan that purchases a Michael Waltrip Daytona 500 Celebration Offer ticket will be entered to win a chance for a garage tour before Sunday’s Daytona 500.

Waltrip said he appreciates the fan response to the celebration offer, but knows he has some work to do in Thursday’s qualifying race before focusing on Sunday’s Daytona 500.

“Sunday is going to be cool, but first we have to run well Thursday. I’m really confident. We did a good job in qualifying last Saturday. A top 20 in qualifying was a great job by the NAPA boys. They got me in a position to where we should have a good day on Thursday and easily make our way into the race. I want to win. I was running good enough Saturday night in the Shootout that I feel confident we can win. Plus, I know my Daytona 500 car is a lot faster. We are going to be very aggressive and try to win the Daytona 500 for a third time.”

The Michael Waltrip Daytona 500 Celebration Offer is available online at www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com/mwr or by calling 1-800-PITSHOP. Fans can stay connected with Daytona International Speedway on Twitter (www.twitter.com/disupdates) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/DaytonaInternationalSpeedway)
