For the 20th consecutive NSCS season, Jeff Gordon, with a qualifying lap speed of 191.623 mph, captured the Coors Light Pole Award, as he wins the 2012 Aaron's 499 pole at Talladega Superspeedway.
Gordon, who now ties the "Silver Fox," David Pearson, for the longest streak all-time in consecutive season series poles, received his 1st series pole of the 2012 season, his 71st series career pole and his 3rd series pole at Talladega Superspeedway.
Sharing the front row with Gordon and starting second with a qualifying lap speed of 191.111 mph, will be A.J. Allmendinger, and they will be followed by Marcos Ambrose (191.039 mph) starting third, Aric Almirola (190.981) fourth and Kasey Kahne (190.772) will start fifth.
