The web is ideally viewed at the 800 by 600 pixel resolution. Although most sites can still be viewed with the lower 640 by 480 resolution, you will find more and more sites are designing at 800 by 600 now. To check or change your monitor resolution, go through these simple steps:

1. From your computers desktop, double click on the My Computer icon.
2. From the My Computer window double click on Control Panel.
3. From the Control Panel window double click on the Display icon.
4. From the Display Properties window, select the Settings tab.
5. From the Settings window, look for Desktop Area. If this is set to anything other than 800 x 600, you should change it to properly view the web.
