2014 NSCS Goody’s 500 Final Practice Session Speeds

Second quickest with a lap speed of 97.242 mph, was Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., and he was followed by Brad Keselowski (97.182 mph) who was third, Kyle Busch (97.158) fourth and Jeff Gordon (97.133) was fifth. Last year's series champion, Jimmie Johnson (96.929 mph) put down the sixth quickest lap speed, while Jamie McMurray (96.924 ) was seventh, series Rookie of the Year (ROTY candidate, Justin Allgaier (96.840) eighth, Joey Logano (96.835) ninth and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (96.790) rounding out the top-ten. Many wondered whether NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCTS) driver Alex Guenette’s early weekend speed at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway would stick for Saturday’s Kroger 200. Simple answer. Yes. The Terrebonne, Quebec native showed that with the right equipment and patience, goals can be accomplished in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS). Last week, the 18-year old tweeted out a photo that he would make his series’ return driving for Turner Scott Motorsports.
